My trip to the Costa Brava with Spanish Trails was spectacular! Having only a short amount of time in the Barcelona area, spending a day on their small-group tour to learn the history and culture of the northeastern part of Catalonia was a day well spent. The views were unsurpassed, as was the knowledge of our guide. Stops were well-investigated beforehand so that we could maximize our time - including a delicious three-course meal in Girona before touring the Jewish Quarter. I learned so much about the area, we're planning a trip back and won't hesitate to spend another day with Spanish Trails.

We met our guide Maria outside our first stop. The tour group included Maria, my husband and myself, and a family of three from Sweden. We loved being able to talk in a small group setting and learning so much about Sweden culture while we were learning about Barcelona! I think this was definitely the best part of our entire trip to Barcelona. We spent four hours walking through different areas of the city learning history and culture all while sipping delicious wines and tasting new and authentic Catalonian cuisine.

It was nice to have someone who knew what to order to get the authentic experience and who could converse so easily with the serving staff. We were introduced to Vermouth at a small side stop, Cava for dessert, and so many other foods!

My son and I registered for a small group tour , but we were the only participants for the day! What indulgence! We felt like old friends of Phillipo to whom he was showing the sights. His preparation and background was excellent. The lunch provided was beyond all expectations. Warmly recommended.

My husband and I did a private food and wine walking tour with this company and it was absolutely phenomenal. Our guide, Danny, was one of the best guides we've had in all our many travels. The food and wine we tasted were extraordinary and definitely things we wouldn't have found exploring the city on our own. We have food restrictions and they were able to accommodate them without any fuss. Perhaps most impressive however was our guides knowledge of Spanish history and ability to relate it to the present. He was like a walking encyclopedia. This tour was a clear highlight of our trip to Spain and I am beyond thrilled we did it. I would recommend this tour to anyone without hesitation.

We took the Monserrat & Winery tour, which comprised a full day outside of Barcelona. Monserrat was completely stunning. The lunch at a local restaurant was a good respite before moving on to the winery, which showcased some of local wine. Our guide, Jose, kept us informed of the history associated with what we were seeing, as well as local customs, myths, and more. It was a full, long day but we enjoyed it all!

So first, our flights got messed up and we arrived a day later than expected. We were originally scheduled for the Montserrat tour, but we would have missed the departure time. With a quick email Tracy transferred our reservations for a tour that was available on the following day.
