One of the most amazing things about this museum is being able to see Picasso develop from a classically trained painter to the influential cubist painter/sculptor that he was. You move through his work chronologically, starting with his earliest works.

If you're a fan of Picasso, then there's no way you can miss this museum. Displaying works of art from his early years to the very last, this museum houses a splendid collection. Most paintings were donated by Picasso himself, since the museum was constructed by a friend of his with the purpose of displaying his art. The building also showcases itinerant expositions of other related artists. Take advantage of free entry on the first Sunday of every month!

There are striking rooms where Picasso does multiple renditions of the same scene. There is also a fabulous collection of photographs that follows him across his career.

I took my daughter to Picasso museum on the "free entrance" day. You can easily see online "quiet" times, when you can visit museum without queues and hassle...it will take you about 1-1,5 hours to walk around. Many paintings I haven't seen before...nice place to visit and very educational.

Wonderful rich collection of work! Paintings line his evolution. Lots of blue period and not so much of the rose( actually the entire collection has one rose period painting). Absolute favorite were the ceramics, the photos by his friend and video too really adds perspective to his mannerisms and what fueled his creativity. The third floor is not as exciting as the second. The first floor you can appreciate the amazing adjoining of five Middle Ages buildings to create this one museum. Absolutely gorgeous as you step in and out of antiquities and modernisms.

My husband and I had a special experience at the Picasso Museum! After watching a woman painstakingly restoring a Picasso piece in front of us, we journeyed upstairs and discovered a free workshop making your own prints we each drew our own piece and the lovely docent showed us how to make inkprints and we got to take them home. It was so much fun and a great break from looking at Picasso's fantastic work. It was also cool to see his style change as you move from room to room.
