  In spite of having booked and payed in advance, we did not get our car. Instead we got down graded with no compensation "because of the system". We spoke nicely to the employees, but they had no interest in our case. I have never received as bad a treatment in all of Europe.

  Everything worked well, the pick up and return of the car was fast and without problems. The staff spoke English.

  Was incorrectly charged in the wrong currency costing me over $180 in extra conversion fee's. I contacted customer support but have so far not had this resolved in over 10 days. Was also involved in a breakdown and had to call avis assist 5 time over 2 hours (while stuck on the side of the road in 40 degree heat) to get any assistance. I will never use Avis again.

  Got gouged over 40 euro for a full tank of gas even though it was 3/4 full. I protested and told them it was unethical, but they didn't care. All I needed was 15 litres and I got charged for 50. Thieves
